Shorebased talk at CYC Clubhouse, 11th March 2026 6:30pm
Sam Barnes gave a fascinating talk about his work for the Republic of Ireland Coast Guard service as Overwatch director in their King Air twin-prop aircraft.
His presentation included extremely interesting review of the equipment and capabilties of the cameras to identify and track targets from high altitude even in weather such as cloud and fog.
The talk was very well attended and we all learned a huge amount about the service, most of it quite reassuring!
